Yup that’s really odd.
Did you keep all the packaging? Any signs of a scam? Is the barcode you scanned different?
Yes, do still have all the packaging. It doesn’t seem to have been tampered with.
…
Apple says the receipt should match the serial number on the card, not the envelope.I had exactly the same recently, Apple GC at Morrisons.
Outer packaging serial number did not match inner GC slip. After being passed round the houses (as you have been @optimus-prime) it was resolved by Apple Support. Hold onto till receipts, outer and inner as you will need to send them photos.
Essentially your GC credit has been loaded to a gift card elsewhere. There is a batch of cards out there where inner and outer codes are mismatched.
Apple will give a goodwill payment for the hassle, if pushed. Thanks, have taken pictures of everything and stored card and receipts in a safe place until this is sorted.
Good luck.
Once I got to the right folk in Apple it was resolved very professionally. They knew exactly what to do and had good tools to share images of cards etc!I’ve saved both a Hackett statement credit and the Sloane Street credit to my card. Would both promotions apply if I were to shop at the Sloane Street branch of Hackett?

My ‘Sloan street’ £50 offer combined with my Harvey Nics £25 offer to get me £75 off a £250 spend. Note additional ~8% TCB that tracked and 15% rewards discount. So this worked quite well.

Yes, it’s a bit odd. Carlisle, Reading, Middleshrough [SIC] are long closed. Frasers, Dundee isn’t due to open until March 2025 – Frasers Group bought the Overgate centre in 2023. The old Arnotts, Dundee closed in 2003.
Alan TJ, they are for applying for the cards, not spending on them.
For anyone looking at the Travelup £15, it stacks with a decent amount at TCB and tracked in an hour.
Just booked a basic BA flight on there and it was the same price as any other booking channel.
