China Eastern Flight Booked via Virgin

I’m posting this again here as I posted this thread in the wrong place earlier today. I’ve asked for the other thread to be deleted.

Has anyone booked with China Eastern Airlines before via Virgin Atlantic using points?

I’ve made a domestic China flight booking through Virgin but currently the China Eastern website not recognising any of the booking information in the manage booking section. I’m using the China Eastern specific booking reference provided by Virgin.

If anyone has done this type of booking before, how did it go in practice? Were you able to check in online? Were you able to select seats in advance? Were you able to manage the booking online? How did things go at the airport?
