I’m connecting between a flight from Sydney at LAX, bound for SFO as final destination. Both flights are Delta operated and ticketed, in economy, on the same ticket. I think that means I can access the Sky Club? Am I correct?
The policy is at https://www.delta.com/us/en/delta-sky-club/access. FC Gold maps to STEP nowadays, so the policy is:
SkyTeam Elite Plus customers (excluding Delta Medallion Members) traveling in any cabin on a same-day international flight operated by a SkyTeam member airline or transferring between two SkyTeam operated flights (includes same-day travel on a Delta domestic flight connecting to an international Delta – or any other SkyTeam partner – flight) will receive Delta Sky Club access with up to one guest.
There are some exclusions to the definition of international, but you aren’t stung by them.
In short, if you’re flying LAX-SFO on the same day as you arrived in from SYD, you should be fine. The self-service machines usually get confused, so you’ll probably have to speak to the desk agent to get it processed – usually just requires reciting your FC number to them.
