I considering upgrading from my Gold card to the platinum, the points and some benefits seem worthwhile vs the fee. I should to meet the spend requirements as I have a larger purchase due soon.
My only concern is the annual fee. Do you know if it’s possible to pay it monthly, Has anyone had any success recently?
It’s been two years since I upgraded from Green to Platinum and opted for monthly, so I can’t comment on the current process, but can confirm that the monthly price has increased from £48 to £55, so £10 more expensive than the annual fee. Worth noting that those paying monthly have reported little success with retention bonuses.
I signed up to Platinum with the recent 100k points offer in November and was told they no longer allow the fee to be paid monthly. I’ve just spent the required amount for 75k Avios so cancelling the card for a fee rebate.
