    Sent email to Ambassador@ihg.com

In under 1hr, had a succesful reply and my expiry date know showing 31/12/24

    Winner!

+1 here too on Mrs GG’s account – emailed and got replay in a couple of hours 🙂

That potentially saves an annual Ambassador enrolment fee in order to extend the good old Creation churned Diamond status for another year…

    Shhhh

What do you put in the email to ambassador?

So I emailed Ambassador yesterday and this morning they have got back to me, confirmed the error and updated my Diamond status to 31/12/24, happy days.

Thanks, this worked for me. Haven’t had a reply yet but my expiry has now been changed to 12/24

Got the reply from amb cust services shortly after posting this, and then overnight had a duplicate generic email welcoming me to diamond status until 12/24! They are truly weird but it falls in our favour so who really cares?? 🙂

I’ve availed of the Ambassador free night weekend already this calendar year, membership until mid Nov.

Voucher still appears to be in my rewards section and available to use; is this a known glitch or issue with the app?

Not looking to break any rules as presumably IHG will be able to easily see when one uses the voucher but keen to read if anyone else has had this ‘issue’?

Considered starting a new thread but thought that might be inappropriate!

@yorkie, it’s widely known and has been advertised in articles on other travel/points sites so nobody’s giving anything away here!

Having now had a coffee, and read through some earlier threads, I can now see/read that my query has been covered!

I trust it was proper coffee, none of this instant freeze-dried rubbish! 😀

@Harrier25, it’s ambassador@ihg.com, I don’t know if they check whether you actually are Ambassador before they respond!

Anyone tried this without being Amb?

If not I will try in a few days and report back

I know but its a continuance of a theme and although I’m sure IHG know, the more these things are blabbed about the more they are taken advantage of and eventually the cost and visibility results in nice things being taken away. We’ve now got some folk pointing out free night vouchers being a bit sticky, well good luck if it happens to you and you’re comfortable with an opportunity but why go around spelling out the detail and spelling out stuff in words of two syllables, being too lazy to have a dig, asking blatent questions and to cap it all as we know sometimes then ringing up the company to ask if something is a mistake! Daft as a brush some folk in my humble opinion. I’m not excluding some bloggers from the same criticism by the way.

I didn’t get round to sending an email, but my app now shows diamond until dec 2024

I was just checking my diamond expiry before emailing Ambassador and it seems to have changed from ’23 to ’24 in the last day or two. Perhaps they got fed up of all the emails😀

    Hi everyone,

I bought Ambassador three days ago buying with points (40k) but my Diamond status did not change until now and stills remains 2023.

    What may I do?

    Thank you!

    Regards,

    Tom

As per another forum thread, it looks like IHG has pulled this offer in literally the last few days. There have been multiple reports of people not getting an extension. The ship may have sailed.

Wasn’t it an IT glitch rather than an offer?!

Maybe it makes sense to contact customer service from IHG?

As the Diamond extension is not an ENTITLEMENT you have no grounds to complain. Contacting IHG will not help the situation and will likely make things worse.

As noted many times, it was an IT error, it’s never been part of the Ts and Cs for joining Ambassador. As above, absolutely no point in contacting anyone from IHG about it.
