I’m looking to book a UA domestic ‘first’ flight as we’ll have quite a bit of luggage and the gap between economy plus bags and domestic first is not that big. But I also see that there is lots of reward availability on the route I want (EWR-BGR).

I have plenty of MRs to throw at this and I know that Avianca and Aeroplan support MR transfers and I can book reward flights on UA with them.

But my ancient Aeroplan has become inactive and I can’t create a new one, even with a new email address, presumably because my DoB and name match an existing account. Password reset does nothing. I have created an Avianca account but their availability is massively different to Aeroplan and they don’t show the UA flight I want.

Is there another route or am I basically going to have to phone Aeroplan to try and sort this out? If I had an account number, it’s long gone.

MR to Marriot at 2:3 then Marriot to UA at 3:1 with a 10,000 bonus for transferring 60,000 Bonvoy points in one transaction.

Unfortuntately you’ve just missed the hotel to UA 30% bonus offer as it expired at end of Oct

Eeek, so 2:1 overall which would be quite a devaluation. I think I’ll try getting my Aeroplan account reactivated if that’s the only alternative.

So I created a new Aeroplan account using a fake date of birth and that worked, but it looks like it’s unavailable to me. I guess it’s not an option in the UK. As soon I login from the transfer page, the option goes away.

Maybe give it a couple of days and try again if you only created the aeroplan account today
