Forums › Frequent flyer programs › British Airways Executive Club › NEW BA 241 voucher reward availability – how is it?
-
I am close to getting a new 241 with BA amex but don’t have it yet so can’t check availability. I have an old 241 expiring in May 2022 and I let a 241 lapse in December 2021. Is there greater availability on premium routes, I’m probably hoping for too much. Looking for MLE in December 2022, probably only one way going out mid December. Im not convinced its worth keeping my BA amex when I earn the new 241!! Thanks
You can check availability on seatspy. I’m currently in Maldives on a reward booking. They do come up but you need to be quick!
I had a look at MLE coz I’m bored and with the new voucher there is zero in J in December assuming J is your thing. And nothing in November. Or October. etc.
There is however a burst of availability in the latter part of April (several dates) that I can’t see on Seat Spy. I’d look on BA but it’s giving me one of their “we can’t code” errors. So if you can see nothing in the latter part of April with your old voucher then that is the big concession.
From what Rob has said, on a route like this you either bag the flights when they are released or you need to wait until BA release a bunch of J seats in the cheap fare bucket once they get a handle on where they are with bookings. From what I’ve seen for the routes I’m interested in (SIN, SFO, SJC – basically anything starting with an “s”) it is a bit better but not at T+355. More like T+200.
Hi, I have both vouchers old and new style still in my account and available to use.
I can find availability to Dubai in business class on the A380 with my new style voucher that doesn’t show with the old voucher or no voucher at all.
So the new voucher does give some seats that you wouldn’t normally be able to see or book just not sure about the Maldives.
Hope that helps 🙂- This reply was modified 54 years, 11 months ago by .
There’s no doubt it is substantially better, but BA will rarely sell 8-10 I-class cash seats to the Maldives (which is what is needed to trigger the extra availability) if they can help it, and certainly not over Christmas and New Year. If they were there, they will be gone.
You won’t get it at 355 days out either, because only fully flexible tickets are offered that far in advance. Advanced Purchase deals tend to appear later.
