Hi guys, I’m looking for historical taxes and charges on standard return long haul Avios redemptions on BA. If you could dig back into any trips you took that would be ideal. The pricing should be on your BA e-ticket receipt.

    Few things:
    – only looking at BA flights – mostly Club
    – return only please
    – default Avios redemption pricing

    In particular the following routes:
    – Denver
    – Tokyo
    – Johannesburg or Cape Town
    – Maldives
    – Rio
    – Singapore

    TYIA!

Hi Rhys, do you mean you only want the figures if booked as a return? I tend to book separate legs but could obviously add them up!

    Yes only return please!

Original post seems to have disappeared but for LHR-GCM-LHR, out in CW and back in PE, surcharges were £630 pp. Booked as separate legs but the difference is negligible on that route.

I recently paid £703.88 per person for CW from Glasgow to Male, return Dubai to Glasgow….booked 24/01/22 for travel Dec 2022.

Are you really just after the BA surcharges rather than APD, airport fees and proper government taxes levied in other countries?

For a redemption booked in the October 2020 sale but travel completed in Jan 2022, LHR-GCM-LHR in CW, total taxes and charges was £622.37 per person.

Thats interesting – we booked the same for Christmas 21 and it was £1635. That was FTVd, and just rebooked for the end of this year and they wanted another £26.

Thanks everyone. Anyone have bookings for LA, Tokyo and Boston?

    NorthernLass 7,573 posts

Funny you should say that, I had completely forgotten we are booked to BOS next month (negative test permitting). Out in F, back in CW, £1410.52 for 2 of us, including MAN connections which will bump up the cash element a bit (£100 presumably for 2 x RFS in CE). The whole thing has been cancelled and rebooked so many times by BA, my app shows me taking about 4 different flights that day!

It was 128,000 avios in total as the F leg falls on an off-peak day even though it’s in our school Easter holidays.

I’ve got a booking for Tokyo, booked last October for travel this October, but I booked each leg separately.

The cost for 2 passengers outbound was £783.14 and inbound was £194.40

Looking at £1480 for 2 for a return LHR to JFk in July this year. I’m sure it used to be closer to £1k..
