I wrote a couple of weeks ago about the exclusive cashback deals that American Express is now offering you online when you log into your online statement.

The first batch were not great, although my wife used the ‘£10 statement credit for a £50 Harvey Nichols spend’ on Tuesday.  Amex was very efficient, and she had received an email confirming that she would get the money within a couple of hours of making the transaction.

Pizza Express

A more useful deal has now appeared, but limited to 4,000 people.  If I log in to my Amex Platinum card or my British Airways Premium Plus card, I am offered a £10 statement credit if I spend £30 at Pizza Express before the end of the year.

There is no special Pizza Express discount code or promotional code.  You log in to the Amex site, click ‘Your Offers’ in the right hand margin of your online statement page, and then click ‘Save to Card’ by the Pizza Express offer.

Since Pizza Express is happy to split bills, this also means £20 off a £60 spend etc, as long as each card has been registered for the offer.  (Note that supplementary cards do not qualify.)

I did not receive the offer on my Starwood Amex, so it clearly doesn’t apply to all Amex issued cards.

Because only 4,000 registrations will be accepted, I would register for this ASAP if you think you might be in Pizza Express before the New Year.

  • James says:

It looks like this offer may be targeted as I did get it on my Starwood card so it’s definitely worth looking.

  • Chris says:

It works on AMEX Platinum too. Very easy sign up through the mobile app.

    • Stewie says:

Amazingly easy on mobile! And also got £15 off on £100 spend at Blacks, which may be useful, especially as it will run into the Xmas sales

  • phreegreens says:

Tks. Raffles. Just grabbed the offer on by BA Amex. We have a very convenient Pizza Express so that will be used well before expiry.

  • Hitesh says:

I think the Apple offer has run out, but even if I had applied for a new BA Amex and used it to get a mac yesterday with the additional discount from Apple plus +10000 avios, it’s still cheaper for me to get it in India!

  • Ian Bailey says:

Thanks for this! I was planning to have dinner with a friend’s at our usual Pizza Express on Tuesday anyway, so this is free money!

  • Andrew says:

I think these offers are very targeted – none of the previous offers showed up on either my Platinum or BA card, when I emailed Amex to find out why, they said they were targeted offers based on spending habits. So I either spend too much money or too little money at Harvey Nics! Neither the Apple or Pizza Express offers are showing up on either of my cards. I miss the Four Square days….

  • Andrew says:

This came through on my BA PP, Gold and Plat cards. Weird.

  • Rob Tharle says:

How do you sign up via the mobile app as I can’t see an option to do so?

    • Alan says:

Ditto – presumably this is yet again a company that has made something iOS-only feature??
