DEAL DEAD: Register for £10 American Express cashback on £30 Amazon spend

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

American Express has, literally, just launched a very generous new promotion in association with

Only 8,000 Amex cards can be registered for this offer.

The regular readers of Head for Points have around 50,000 British Airways, Gold, Platinum, Starwood, bmi etc Amex cards between them, at a rough guess, so we could wipe out this offer ourselves if we so wanted.

You will receive £10 cashback on your Amex statement when you spend £30 at before June 9th.

Amazon 10 credit

The easiest thing to do, to be honest, is buy a £30 Amazon gift card and add it to your Amazon account.  The money will then sit there until you buy something, with no time pressure.  There is nothing to suggest that gift cards are excluded – all that matters is that ‘’ appears on your card statement.

You can register every Amex-issued Amex card that you hold.  Lloyds / MBNA / Barclays and Amex supplementary cards seem to register OK.

Whilst the offer is advertised in a way which promotes Amazon’s fashion pages, ANY £30 purchase from the UK site will qualify for the cashback.

This is what you must do IMMEDIATELY to ensure that your cards are in the first 8,000 to register:

Step 1:  You can see details of the offer and the rules here on the website  If the page is slow to load due to demand then skip to Step 2.

Step 2:  Visit this page and register your American Express card details

There is no rush to do Step 3 – once registered, as long as your purchase is completed by June 9th, you will get the cashback:

Step 3:  Visit and spend £30 in one transaction.  If you want to buy a £30 e-gift card, go to the Amazon UK gift card store here and have one emailed to yourself.  There is a link in the e-gift card email which allows you to instantly add it to your Amazon balance.

That’s it.  Please get onto this ASAP if you want to take part, because all 8,000 will disappear very quickly once this offer reaches hotukdeals, moneysavingexpert etc.

The Amazon links in Step 3 include our affiliate details, and Head for Points will receive a small referral commission on anything you buy.  Thank you for your support.

Damn missed it! I follow posts religiously daily first thing in the morning. The moral of the story is the early bird doesn’t always get the worm, if there’s a flash offering later in the day. Can’t win them all. Great though that H4P folk got the lot 😉

    • Rob says:

Sorry Hilly. There are only 3-4 of these ‘middle of the day’ posts each year – generally when I don’t believe an offer will survive until the morning.

      • Hilly says:

No apologies necessary Rob. Quite understand the need for speed on this one. Besides, can’t win them all -won a few though – two free nights at Hilton Park Lane this b/hol weekend thanks to H4P 🙂 🙂
        Threadneedles in July 🙂
        Airline points galore 🙂

        • Rob says:

Threadneedles is very nice! You will find the City very spooky on a Sunday!

  • pj says:

I wonder if Amazon’s contribution to the campaign came out of the Fashion/ Clothing marketing budget.

Don’t think I am about to buy a frock anytime soon 🙂

  • Martin Clarke says:

Annoyingly, the site lets you put in all your details before telling you the offer is closed. Now that was annoying.

  • Mark says:

    Only just seen this…

Oh well, still working through 7 cards on the Shell, Boots, Vue and Ocado deals so I can’t really complain 🙂

    • pj says:

This one was a free £70 for you, though 🙂

      • Mark says:

It would have been, on top of the free £280 from the others…

Combined with the 2for1 offer £105 spent on £175 Vue vouchers will probably keep us in cheap cinema visits for the next year!

  • Mike S says:

Thanks for the heads up Rob, just purchased 2 gift cards

  • Tariq says:

Thanks Rob and JT. Registered just before 7pm for my 2 cards. Going to buy some gift cards now! Waiting on some free amazon vouchers from car insurance and the Aviva life insurance offer so perfect timing.

  • BD701 says:

Registered this afternoon and just purchased £30 of gift card with your link.

Instantly received an e-mail from Amex confirming I had purchased something from Amazon.

    Thanks very much Raffles 🙂

  • Modern Day Sinbad says:

All gone now. Just tried to register an Amex I found down the back of the sofa :o)
