Any idea when the new Marriott card will be announced? Need a new target…

  • Wally1976 says:

31/8/18 last day to use the Amex £5 off £50 at BP for those of us who have it.

  • Dooly says:

Has HSBC ever given a bonus on their other partners? Im not sure if I should commit to getting avios with this bonus or if I should try and use them to get Singapore or CX points for a different experience.

    • Andrew M says:

They previously offered a 50% bonus on Avios transfers. I’ve not seen any bonuses for other parthers though. I’d love a bonus for Krisflyer miles which is where I plan to use a lot of my HSBC points. It’s probably not going to happen though so I’m going to transfer a large chunk to Avios to pick up the current bonus but leaving enough for an SQ redemption JFK-FRA-SIN-SYD in suites class!

  • Ben Adams says:

    Hi
Do you know id you can claim the Amex Kaligo bonus twice on one Amex account (my wife as main card and me as the additional card holder)?

    • Rob says:

If the card number is different and you credit to her BA account I doubt they will know.

  • Mark E says:

Any thoughts on whether we will see another IHG accelerate soon?

    • guesswho2000 says:

Almost certainly, it’s almost every quarter they offer one.

    • Alan says:

Normally only 3x a year so wouldn’t expect to hear much for another month or so…

  • pommy ray says:

millennium hotels have a sale ending soon: Book from now until 10am (BST) 15th August 2018 for stays from now until 30th April 2019.

  • Simonbr says:

OT: has anyone used BA First to LHR from Nairobi? It’s a late flight, 2310 departure. I’m weighing up whether it’s worth the extra 25K avios over CW.

  • guesswho2000 says:

OT question re Amex Platinum travel insurance – does the UK Platinum card insurance cover you if you live outside the UK? The terms mention specific clauses relative to your country of residence, but not that your country of residence has to be in the UK, unless I’ve misread something.

I’m trying to work out whether it’s worth keeping the UK Plat as a non-resident. The 18k referrals are obviously a big factor, but the insurances would be a nice to have too, as the ones attached to cards here have a lot of ifs and buts attached.

    • Rob says:

No, because there is a limit to the number of days you can be outside the UK.

      • Alan says:

Indeed – on the upside they’re happy to provide cover notes if required for those moving abroad. For my Oz visa application a couple of years back I needed proof of medical insurance – they gave me a 30-day cover note which the visa team were happy enough with until I could register for Medicare under the reciprocal UK/Oz agreement.
