  • Kayman says:

Anyone know why hotels.com is no longer showing up as a Clubcard reward – has this partnership changed?

    • AndyGWP says:

Temporary “blip” according to comments in the past week or so, to do with issues at the Hotels end issuing vouchers IIRC

    • the_real_a says:

More likely all marketing spend has been pulled from hotels.com. Don’t be mistaken to think that Tesco pay 3x on the vouchers, most is funded from Hotels.com marketing budget based on marginal redemption for only a small % of the total booking. This happened to RSH train booking site last year. With the bottom falling out of the hotels market its open for debate if they will return.

OT – I’m fed up of waiting the two years to get an Amex again. I am about to move house, does anyone have any experience of requalifying for bonuses by having a new home address, email address phone number etc?
    Thanks

    • Spursdebs says:

As you will have to give your previous address on application as new address is under 3 years I can’t see how it will help. If it did prolific churners would be “ moving house” every 6 months.

      • Sloppy says:

lol… I would move flats every 6 months if it was that

        • Spursdebs says:

There would be lots of “ Ive split up from partner moving back to parents” going on lol

    • Jonathan says:

You miss out of on all your day to day spending by not having an Amex in your wallet. Yes, you miss out on bonuses, but you won’t be able to find a comparable Mastercard or Visa card with similar type of rewards, plus with the current credit card market, you’re risking the card you’re eyeing up being pulled from the market

      • Spursdebs says:

I never was a churner but I do earn lots of points through my Amex gold charge and my BAPP. Plus I do use the offers 20% off pair of Jimmy Choo’s this month on gold card, 5000 extra points on BAPP via Farefetch. My Son has supplementary cards on both accounts he puts all his spending through and pays it off on pay day. Fortunately venue where he’s having his wedding takes Amex so a nice chunk of points coming to my I mean our account from that lol

        • Spursdebs says:

Plus 5000 odd points from JC going through BA e shop plus the points from Amex.

        • Secret Squirrel says:

5000 pts from Farfetch on BAPP – please tell me more Spursdeb?

          • Spursdebs says:

Offer open till April I believe spend minimum £250 get 5000 extra points on BAPP card. Don’t know if it’s targeted but I did shout it out when it first went live.
Son sacrificed himself for new shoes and shirt for the points cause lol

          • Secret Squirrel says:

            @Spursdebs
Was that 5k pts on £250 one time use only?
Even if, that’s a great bonus & don’t know why such great Amex offers are not covered on here?

          • Spursdebs says:

Yes one time use spend minimum of £250 get 5000 bonus points plus your normal points, plus I went through BA e store ….I always shout out offers like that. Not to be confused with the £50 off £250 spend on gold card.

          • Anna says:

SS – I used that offer several weeks ago and no sign of the bonus Avios yet so I assume I will have to chase it up. Be aware that Farfetch CS is appalling if anything goes wrong – long story short they refuse to accept any legal liability in respect of consumer law by claiming they are only a 3rd party, but also refuse to disclose who your supplier actually is. I’ve ended up reporting them to Trading Standards.

          • Lady London says:

@secretsquirrel : @Anna on here has had a nightmare with Farfetch having sent her the wrong item and apparently not accepting responsibility and not providing remedy.

@Anna would you advise Farfetch as a source of anything right now? not sure how your experience of about three weeks ago has progressed with them?

          • Anna says:

They are clearly fine until something goes wrong – there were no issues with the rest of my order. In the end I decided to find another use for the incorrect item and report them to TS for operating in a way which allows them to shirk their legal obligations but I don’t actually know if anything can be done about it! On principle I will never spend money with them again though!

          • Crafty says:

When you say “great offers”… £50 off £250 at Farfetch has been recurring for ages. Not sure anybody’s that interested!

    • Lady London says:

Only if you have a genuine Business (even ebay or AirBnB) that you can take Amex Plat Business for. In that case it’s only 6 months rather than 2 years that you would need to wait for any sign-on bonus.

Amex Gold looks the sweet spot right now otherwise if you don’t want to pay £600 for Plat (and I wouldn’t as the Priority Pass and the insurance are both below par in what they deliver) – Amex Green for offers according to comments on here – if you want to go back to Amex without a signon bonus.

      • Secret Squirrel says:

        @Ladylondon:
Now I remember a discussion going on about Farfetch a little while ago, think Shoestring was in on the deal selling handbags on fleabay.
Seems a shady organisation by the sounds of it, Anna’s / Spursdebs comments are pushing me closer through gritted teeth to take out another BAPP card, I don’t like paying for my loyalty points credit cards..

  • SammyJ says:

Still no points on my Tesco Pet Insurance, purchased 16 January. Anyone else been waiting that long?

    • The Original Nick says:

My 2500 CC points haven’t hit yet. Purchased 1st Feb.

    • tom1 says:

I signed up 26th Jan and the points came through this weekend.
However, I did email them last week to find out where they were – their reply said 35 days (which has passed) “but (the points) will not appear until your next statement”.
Sounds like standard cs rubbish – not sure if any link between my email and the points turning up a few days later.
tesco.petinsurance@uk.rsagroup.com if you want to try.

  • mark2 says:

Amex statement credits on Morrison’s spend 4/5/7/10% on purchases billed by 11th March

    • TGLoyalty says:

Bought a load of Morrison’s vouchers. Fuel shopping and flexible for M&S JL and local pub discounts.

      • Ammar says:

Ot – just found this offer on my AMEX. 10% discount. What’s the strategy for max benefit? Also can you use it for fuel purchases with Morrisons gift cards?
Any tips…thinking Amazon vouchers and Morrisons is best

        • Shoestring says:

sign up for Virgin Miles 8 miles/ £ on VA Shopping site
          10% Amex
          1% MR points
          8% Virgin Miles
1% More points (0.5% when you buy M giftcard, 0.5% when you spend it)
          = 20%

          • KBuffett says:

Can Morrison’s gift cards now be used for fuel?
Are there purchase restrictions on them?

          • mark2 says:

            can be used for fuel.
            restrictions vary by store.

  • Secret Squirrel says:

    OT:
The recent IHG card offer, 20,000 pts for spending £500. I’ve read a few comments of the additional 10k pts now being credited, has anyone not had the extra 10k yet?

    • The Original Nick says:

Where do you see this offer?

    • Alex says:

I’ve not had my extra 10k yet, think it’s been about 2 weeks since I hit the £500 spend. That’s on the free card.

      • Secret Squirrel says:

        @Alex:
AW has just picked up an additional 10k IHG in my account. When I checked the IHG CC account it doesn’t show but it appears the points get credited straight to your ihg points account and not the CC account.

  • Lee CB says:

Thanks Mark2. Also the Amex 10% off (till 11/3) doubles up with 8 Virgin FC miles per £ spent in Morrisons (till 25/3). https://headforpoints.com/2020/02/08/morrisons-earn-virgin-points/

    • mark2 says:

I particularly recommend One4All gift cards which can be spent at most national retailers.

    • Joe says:

Anyone actually received the morrisons points in their Virgin Atlantic account?
I have 20 transactions pending from 1 February – none show as approved !

      • PJJ says:

I believe it is up to 40 days wait before approval, so you are getting close

Let us all know when you start getting them please

  • Raj says:

ISA and Curve – Any smart strategy?

  • Ali Malik says:

O/T any chances Curve would take up Amex soon too at some point with apple pay and all?
