Qatar Airways has announced a global ‘free flights’ giveaway for teachers.

Here is the link you will need to register – click here – once applications open.

This follows the sucesss of their free flight giveaway for healthcare staff in May.  We had a few winners from amongst our readership:

….. and hopefully our readers will do as well with the new giveaway for teachers.  Please share this article with any teaching friends.

How does the Qatar Airways teacher giveaway work?

There are 21,000 return economy flights to be given away.

Winners can travel ANYWHERE on the Qatar Airways network.

The ticket allocation has been split across the 75 countries where Qatar Airways is currently flying, and split again across the three days of the campaign.

When and where do you register?

You can register here.

Registration opens at 2am (UK time) on Monday 5th October.  A second batch of tickets will be released at 2am on Tuesday and a third batch at 2am on Wednesday.

It is first come, first served, which is a little inconvenient given that you need to apply at 2am BST.  However, as the UK has its own unique ticket allocation, everyone is in the same boat.

Your chances will be higher on the first day as word will not have got around.

What do you win?

Each winner will receive ONE free economy class return ticket.  The winner will have to pay airport taxes and charges, however.

You can book for ANY destination on the Qatar Airways network, for travel up to 30th September 2021.

All winners will also receive a voucher for 50% off a Qatar Airways flight ticket.  This can be used by the winner for another trip or by a companion to accompany the winner.  Children aged under 12 cannot travel on a 50% off voucher.

Prize tickets, and tickets booked with a ‘50% off’ voucher, must be ticketed by 1st November 2020.

Not sure what they’re trying to achieve here other that annoying knackered teachers by a first come first served system that has a used-up allocation seconds after its refreshed. Good one, Qatar Airways.

  • Nick says:

Got this message today: “You have submitted your details already.” Looks like we can enter only once, or does it mean I have already bagged a ticket. Not sure!

  • Gilly says:

Yup same message – I hope they do send the emails from yesterday’s entry out within the 48 hour period & then if I don’t get one I will try to enter again tomorrow with a different email address and hope it’s that not passport number that triggers the ‘you’ve already submitted your details’ response.

  • Aron says:

    @ Nick and Gilly

Looks like the backend service does check both email address and passport number for duplicates.

    • Aron says:

input type=”hidden” value=”You have submitted your details already. ” id=”DUP_EMAIL”

input type=”hidden” value=”You have submitted your details already. ” id=”DUP_PASSPORT”

      • Nick says:

        Thanks Aron for sharing this.
You can easily get around email check, but there is no way around passport check unless you hold 2 passports of course, which I don’t! 🙁

    • Gilly says:

Thanks Aron – I could have fudged an email but not a passport!

  • AndyGWP says:

“Thank you for submitting your details. We will send you an email within 48 hours once your request has been processed.”

    YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!

    Back to Bed! lol

    • AndyGWP says:

I appreciate I am the only person in the world who was still trying 🤣🤣

      • Andrew Tucker says:

Well, seeing as we were to be told within 48 hours according to the blue label, those of us who applied on Sunday must be out (unless of course you got an email this morning)?

        • Steve says:

It took longer with the Healthcare contest, even though they were told 48 hours, so I’m still hopeful

        • Gilly says:

          I haven’t had an email.
I applied 6.01 on the first day, from a country that this wasn’t widely publicised in, got the blue sticker and have heard nothing. And of course could not apply on any of the later days because of the passport /email checks.

Has anyone had an email yet?

          • Nick says:

I also applied from a country other than the UK, and got a blue sticker on Day 1. But I am still waiting to hear from them!

  • Andrew Tucker says:

    Fingers crossed… we’re still in!

  • kaz says:

Hi I’ve also done mine and got the blue sticker, its been over 48hrs but haven’t heard nothing yet.
will post any updates as I’ve sent them an email.

  • kaz says:

    Just got mine come through

    • A270 says:

Great. Did you get them on Day 1?

    • Steve says:

Nothing for me and I got the blue box on day one. I guess I wasn’t successful in the end 🙁

      • A270 says:

Maybe they will start coming more from tomorrow. Its strange if they don’t send them out to the ones who got the blue ticket as that means the quota had not been reached. It never said you’d then be selected out of the successful entries. Let’s see.
