Here is the link you will need to register – click here – once applications open.

This follows the sucesss of their free flight giveaway for healthcare staff in May.  We had a few winners from amongst our readership:

….. and hopefully our readers will do as well with the new giveaway for teachers.  Please share this article with any teaching friends.

How does the Qatar Airways teacher giveaway work?

There are 21,000 return economy flights to be given away.

Winners can travel ANYWHERE on the Qatar Airways network.

The ticket allocation has been split across the 75 countries where Qatar Airways is currently flying, and split again across the three days of the campaign.

When and where do you register?

You can register here.

Registration opens at 2am (UK time) on Monday 5th October.  A second batch of tickets will be released at 2am on Tuesday and a third batch at 2am on Wednesday.

It is first come, first served, which is a little inconvenient given that you need to apply at 2am BST.  However, as the UK has its own unique ticket allocation, everyone is in the same boat.

Your chances will be higher on the first day as word will not have got around.

All winners will also receive a voucher for 50% off a Qatar Airways flight ticket.  This can be used by the winner for another trip or by a companion to accompany the winner.  Children aged under 12 cannot travel on a 50% off voucher.

Prize tickets, and tickets booked with a ‘50% off’ voucher, must be ticketed by 1st November 2020.

Just got our free ticket!! Entered on the first day and got the blue bar after submittting.

  • Phil says:

Just got mine. Now it’s time to book!

  • Aron says:

    Got mine too.

  • Ali says:

Just got mine! Entered on the first day, got the blue bar (receive in 48 hours etc…) and actually received it just after 10pm today.

  • Aron says:

Seems it is definitely only W class fares and unless more are released closer to the time then I’m struggling to find anything in the summer holidays in Asia next year, which kind of makes this a pointless promotion for teachers.

  • Nick says:

Finally managed to ticket 2 promo itineraries LHR-DOH-DPS-DOH-LHR, after spending 6 hours on Qatar’s website. It is bloody 4:30 am already. I am going to be a bit grumpy today!

Anyway, I paid £331.90 for 2 tickets, which were otherwise selling for £1,266.30. That’s a neat saving of £934.40. Not a bad deal, eh?

To be honest, Qatar’s teacher’s promo ain’t that bad! You just need to be patient and keep searching for W class fares for summer 2021. They are limited in numbers, but Qatar surely hasn’t pulled the plug on W fare class, as many people are suggesting.

    • Steve says:

Did you get your 50% off voucher immediately after booking your free ticket? 🙂

      • Jacob says:

I’m interested to know this as well!

      • Andrew says:

Yeah, I’m a bit concerned about booking the ticket and then struggle with seat allocation or flight for the next booking so that the rest of the family are there

      • Nick says:

@Steve – The 50% off voucher is displayed on the booking confirmation page. It is also listed on the booking confirmation email, in case it escapes your attention on the booking confirmation page.

  • Adam Howard says:

Does anyone know what the refunds policy is if we were to book using the code and cancel closed to the time?

Only reason I ask is that we have a new born who we may decide against taking out of the country. My intention was to book a fully refundable holiday for us next year, to have the option of cancelling at the last moment if we wish.

    • Nick says:

Tickets are non-refundable but can be rescheduled for a hefty £300 (approx.) fee.
