Here is the link you will need to register – click here – once applications open.

This follows the sucesss of their free flight giveaway for healthcare staff in May.  We had a few winners from amongst our readership:

….. and hopefully our readers will do as well with the new giveaway for teachers.  Please share this article with any teaching friends.

How does the Qatar Airways teacher giveaway work?

There are 21,000 return economy flights to be given away.

Winners can travel ANYWHERE on the Qatar Airways network.

The ticket allocation has been split across the 75 countries where Qatar Airways is currently flying, and split again across the three days of the campaign.

When and where do you register?

You can register here.

Registration opens at 2am (UK time) on Monday 5th October.  A second batch of tickets will be released at 2am on Tuesday and a third batch at 2am on Wednesday.

It is first come, first served, which is a little inconvenient given that you need to apply at 2am BST.  However, as the UK has its own unique ticket allocation, everyone is in the same boat.

Your chances will be higher on the first day as word will not have got around.

Each winner will receive ONE free economy class return ticket.  The winner will have to pay airport taxes and charges, however.

All winners will also receive a voucher for 50% off a Qatar Airways flight ticket.  This can be used by the winner for another trip or by a companion to accompany the winner.  Children aged under 12 cannot travel on a 50% off voucher.

Prize tickets, and tickets booked with a ‘50% off’ voucher, must be ticketed by 1st November 2020.

I’m a bit worried about booking the free ticket, then trying to book the Partner ticket… and then wonder where this leave the little one as well considering be can’t book a ticket on his own and has to be with a guardian.

    Any advice?

    • Adam Howard says:

We’re in the same boat. Three people. Wife, me and newborn.

      • Nick says:

@ Andrew & Adam: After you book all the tickets, you can call them to merge the tickets into one. I have done this in the past myself, and planning to do it again as the Missus and I are on separate tickets at the moment.

        • Andrew says:

Thanks Nick for that. I’m still a bit unclear of finding eligible tickets. How are eligible tickets recognised on the flight listings page? Do they show as costing nil and if not, what identifies them

          • Nick says:

The promo tickets would be priced at a princely sum of “0”! Also check the fare class, which should be “W”.

        • Andrew says:

          That’s great. Thank you Nick

  • A270 says:

If I get my email too, is it best to book straight away? If I need to make a change, will there be change fees? We are a family of 4. Mine will be the free one, OH’s 50% and then I will need to pay for my children (14y and 12y). Wondering if I should just book us for now instead of blocking my money. I doubt flights would get sold out. Does Qatar allow child booking via website?

    • Andrew says:

You’ll need to make three separate bookingof these bookings. The 50% discount is given once the first booking has been made.

Searching on my mobile it’s very unclear which flights are eligible or not, so I would definitely wait until you receive the email

  • Nick says:

For those of you wondering what the change & cancellation charges are, here’s what I see when I try to change the itinerary:

    • Andrew says:

Honestly Nick, I don’t want to waste this ticket, but I’ve been searching a lot. I’ve gone though the calendar found jackpot dates, but when I decide to continue, it just comes up with the ordinary price again. It’s easier to find avios tickets to Sydney!

      • Nick says:

This happens when one of your segments is in a fare class other than “W”. The fare should be “0” for W fare class.

  • Hint says:

Got the message “You have submitted your details already.” And 3 days later, here comes the coupon! Thank you Qatar Airways!!!!!!

  • Gilly says:

Anyone had any luck with missing vouchers?
I registered at 4,01 Doha time and got the ‘you have registered and will get an email within 48 hours’ but nothing. I tweeted them and they said there had been a delay for some people but now they are saying the form may have had the incorrect email address or I had submitted fraudulent information (!!!). Nope!!! I know the details were correct as when I tried to register on the 2nd day it gave me a ‘you are registered already’ message.
I have tweeted but is there anything else I can do – I’d just like someone to check what’s happened. It’s doubly annoying as I was the one who shared the offer with the rest of my school and all my colleagues who applied got flights!

  • Anj says:

Anyone still waiting for their email from the last day of the promotion?
I got the message that I would get an email within 48 hours, but nothing since.. Has everyone else who got this message on the last day of the promotion received theirs?
