Got Amex Platinum? Get £400 of TOTALLY FREE Marriott hotel stays

2,000 lucky holders of The Platinum Card from American Express are about to get themselves a very generous offer indeed – £400 of free Marriott International hotel stays.

This new offer has just launched. Only 2,000 people are able to register.

If you have The Platinum Card, I STRONGLY recommend that you look at your online offers page IMMEDIATELY. If you see this offer, click ‘save to card’. It will disappear as soon as 2,000 people have saved it.

American Express Amex Platinum card £400 free Marriott stays

I do NOT have this offer. It is possible that this is one for non-Londoners.

Do I really get £400 of free stays?

Yes. Here are the terms:

Spend £400 and get £400 cashback

You must stay by 23rd November

Valid at participating hotels

£400 of free Marriott hotel stays

What hotels are ‘participating’?

Not many, unfortunately. However, they are all very high end and you’re in for a treat with your free £400.

In the UK, your options are:

I live in London. This is pointless for me.

No it isn’t. Assuming that you simply don’t just fancy a change of scene, how about this?

Book the cheapest room you can find, and then spend the difference up to £400 in the hotel restaurant and bar. Go home at night if you must, then pop back to check out the next day.

Think of all the Marriott Bonvoy points you’ll earn as well.

There are numerous non-UK options too although only two German hotels are outside the UK quarantine rules.

If you are targetted for this offer, you are in for a great short break. Enjoy.

PS. On Tuesday, I hope to run another article showing the special benefits that you will get if you book via our hotel booking partner Emyr Thomas.

I asked via chat and got a copy paste “Offers are purely base on solicitation and card specific and our marketing team generated offer base on where you usually used your card where you are located and base on your spending history with us, So the same offer that your friends and family may not necessarily be offered on your card, however base on your card history many more exciting offers will be given to you where you will be able to take more advantage of it.”

    • Andrew says:

Yeah I spoke to Brighton and got the same blah blah blah “hang in there more offers coming”. She did say they had a lot of complaints about this offer today and that perhaps it has backfired as it’s created bad feeling. Amex are good at listening to moans at least.

      • Harry T says:

Yeha, chat fobbed me off too. The fact is this would add significant value to my card membership, as I spend a lot at higher end Marriott Bonvoy hotels (I’d spend more than £400 if I stayed). Surely encouraging me to spend at hotels is also a win for Bonvoy and Amex?

        • MinR says:

          Ditto!

        • Nick says:

Pretty sure your spend history is what’s stopping you getting it… they’re not going to give you something they think you’re paying for anyway, it’s a marketing/acquisition offer, not a loyalty bonus!!

          • Andrew says:

I’ve not stayed at a Marriott group hotel in about 4 years and I’ve not got the offer either. So I don’t think there’s a great science to it.

  • Angry Voldemort says:

Still don’t have it on mine but I do have 15% off a will writing service and 15% off some poncy swimwear company so I am basically minted.

  • Justin says:

Came to see read about Alex Cruz, leave with £400 to spend on Marriott FOC. Now the hard part to find a hotel to blow it on. Assume that total spend on checkout will be included not just the accommodation?

  • AK says:

    Amazing – thanks!

Any idea whether I can book this for my parents and if they can check out and pay on my card (or do hotels require the card holder to be present/staying)?

  • Alan says:

    incredible, thank you

  • Sukes says:

Rob I assume this would work on a ‘Daylet’ 9am-5pm booking (they seem to be available at W and Park Tower), & I could ask for the Folio to be left open until I’ve added a boozy dinner to it? Don’t really need the overnight but a long lunch or dinner courtesy of the seagulls sounds gd….That said knowing my luck I’ll be in a 6wk local lockdown by tomorrow evening and this offer will seem so close but so far!

  • Cass says:

Hi Rob, Does the £400 spend include any spending in the restaurants or bars within the hotel, so for example will spend include everything in the Wellesley?

    • Rob says:

Yes, as long as you can add it to your room bill.

However, restaurant spend WITHOUT a stay may not work, because the card statement may show ‘Wellesley Bar’ rather than ‘Wellesley Hotel’.

  • Gareth Jeanne says:

    Nothing for me 🙁

    • Gareth Jeanne says:

I take that back, nothing in the App, but available on the website!
