Get cheap Bollinger for Christmas via an Amex / Laithwaites offer

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

If you are looking to stock up on champagne for Christmas, an interesting offer was flagged up in the comments section this week by babyg.

Many American Express cards currently feature an offer from wine merchant Laithwaites. Their home page is here.

You will receive £20 cashback when you spend £75 online by 17th November.

If you see this offer on the online statement page for any of your cards, or in the Amex app, remember to click ‘Save to Card’ to activate it.

Champagne deals from Laithwaites

Opinion varies about the quality of the wine sold by Laithwaites, which is virtually all under ‘house’ labels. This makes it difficult to compare pricing.

However, it does stock a range of branded champagnes, beers and spirits. Many of these are already reduced before factoring in the Amex cashback.

Here is the champagne home page.

Of the current special offers, you have:

  • Champagne Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée (£29.99, was £39.99)
  • Champagne Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut (£32.98, was £42)
  • Champagne Louis Roederer Brut Premier (£32.98, was £43.99)
  • Champagne Deutz Brut Classic (£33.99, was £40)
  • Champagne Bollinger Special Cuvée Brut (£34.98, was £44.99 – note that this bottle only comes up if you seach ‘Bollinger’ or click here, it is not on the champagne page)
  • Champagne Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve (£39.99, was £45)
  • Champagne Veuve Clicquot Brut Rosé (£41.96, was £46)
  • Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage 2012 (£41.98, was £55)
  • Champagne Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Brut (£48.98, was £60)
  • Champagne Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle Iteration 24 (£105, was £125)

Top up with beer if necessary

It is relatively easy to mix and match two bottles to hit £75 and trigger the cashback.

The person who flagged had bought two Bollingers for £69.96 and topped it up with £5 of bottled beer from this page.

Delivery is a flat £7.99 per order to UK addresses.

The Laithwaites home page here. Don’t forget to save the Amex cashback offer before ordering. The Amex cashback deal requires your card to be charged by 17th November.

Asda have Bolly for £35 with no delivery fee

  • mr_jetlag says:

I really don’t get the hype around LPGS. Tasted nice but so does the yellow top stuff I buy at ASDA for £22. It’s all blended to a formula anyway, like most non vintage plonk.

    • T says:

Well the wines that are blended are better quality, they possibly blend in more reserve wine and then it spends more time on the lees. But ultimately it’s a “premium” product with a premium price. Each to their own though, it’s a lot of money for a bottle of wine.

    • Mike says:

Standard LP is a very good champagne.

  • ThinkSquare says:

I have a 10% back at Morrisons offer, valid instore and online. Do they sell vouchers that I could use for their petrol?

    • DANi says:

Yep..grab the Morrison’s gift cards..each can be charged up with a maximum of 250…and can be used at the fuel stations.

While you are there…grab whatever others suit… Amazon? Boots?

    • Nick_C says:

You’re comparing Bolly to petrol? Pose your question on the “chat” thread for a serious answer.

    • William PH says:

I was thinking of visiting Morrison’s for that 10% off Amex offer, but noticed that my Santander 123 account is offering 15% off at Morrison’s

  • james says:

I think I’ll just double up my nectar points at Sainsburys and get it for free

  • Amit says:

If you have a blue light card, you can get 20% off, and free delivery ( think minimum is £100) so I’ve just purchased 3 bottles!

    • Martin says:

I was about to post that. Excellent deal that is. No minimum spend, but if you spend 100 you get a free bottle of decent wine. The free delivery is good so spend exactly 75 to hit Amex deal, plus 20% off with Blue Light Card, it’s around 40 Pounds…Well worth it so thanks for the heads up folks..

  • James says:

If you have a Laithwaites nearby you can of course request a click and collect pickup… free of charge

  • babyg says:

I agree delivery is a bit steep, but I signed up for the unlimited yearly delivery – i have the offer on 3 cards ATM, so that’s 3 deliveries i haven’t had to pay for. I recommend signing up if you hold a few amex cards and you can stack these deals. I always stock up on bollie when it can be had for twenty-something…

  • Jimmy says:

Whisky offers aren’t that good – even with the offer.

    • Stagger Lee says:

Best bet for Whisky is to keep an eye on Amazon deals as they always have different offers popping up.

Al the Game of Thrones bottlings were heftily reduced on Prime Day. I picked up the Lagavulin 9 for £36 instead of the normal £50+
