Got a pile of unspent Hilton Honors points from the last 18 months, and a social diary which is emptier than usual?

Good news – Hilton Honors has added some VIP hospitality sports packages to its ‘Experiences’ platform today.

I have slotted this in as an intra-day article as these are mainly ‘Buy It Now’ tickets and I’d prefer HfP readers to grab them.

England v India fifth test

This is NOT a ‘buy it now’ package, so you will have to bid your points if you want it.

Hilton Honors is offering three VIP packages for day one of the final England v India test match. The game is being played at Old Trafford in Manchester and the packages are for 10th September.

Each package is for TWO people and includes:

  • overnight accommodation for 9th September at the Hilton Garden Inn Old Trafford
  • buffet lunch in the Century Lounge
  • seating on an elevated balcony
  • access to a complimentary bar during the day

The minimum bid is 50,000 Hilton Honors points. The auction closes on 30th August.

BMW PGA championship, Wentworth

The following three events are ‘buy it now’.

Hilton is offering hospitality packages for the BMW PGA golf tournament at Wentworth, from 9th to 12th September.

Each package is for TWO people. You will be receive all day complimentary food and drink whilst overlooking the 18th hole of Wentworth Golf Club.

Pricing is, for two:

  • Thursday 9th – 40,000 Hilton Honors points
  • Friday 10th – 40,000 Hilton Honors points
  • Saturday 11th – 60,000 Hilton Honors points
  • Sunday 12th – 60,000 Hilton Honors points

No accommodation is included and you are responsible for your own transport to the event. The small print says that a lateral flow test will be required for entry – there is no mention of fully vaccinated people being exempt from this.

At the time of writing the number of packages available varies from three to 12 depending on day.

Based on our target value of 0.33p per Hilton Honors point, you are looking at spending between £130 and £200-worth of points for a day of free food and drink for two people whilst watching some of the world’s top golfers, which sounds like a decent deal to me.

Please dont post about any Abu Dhabi GP tickets when they become available later in the year, id prefer less competition.. ill bring you home some rubber marbles or something as compensation Rob/team.

  • Thomas O'Brien says:

Any idea when O2 Marriott moments return?

    • Rob says:

Marriott Moments is currently pretty much shut – there are a grand total of 2 listings globally. However the O2 has started to advertise a series of ‘welcome back’ concerts so I would expect it to burst back into life.

That said …. Marriott still has its Man Utd box and the seats for that have not gone back onto Moments.

  • Kevin C says:

Thank you. I have booked a pair of tickets courtesy of the great Virgin Atlantic panic points conversion of 2020.

    • Colin MacKinnon says:

I prefer to think of it as being Prior Preparation!

    • Will says:

I consider it a given that the airlines are all going to be worth zero to their shareholders in the coming years, it just depends on wether or not the new owners decide to honour the outstanding points balances, which I would say stands a good chance given the good will that will be lost if frequent flyers are put off side.

  • Matthew says:

Thanks Rob – got tickets for golf on the Friday 🙂

  • Alastair says:

I’ve no Hilton points, am I right in thinking I can transfer Amex points to Hilton? Sorry if this is old hat.

    • Kevin C says:

I believe they transfer 1 Amex to 2 Hilton. But it seems possible the packages will have gone by the time the transfer goes through.

  • Dan says:

Can these Hilton packages be booked as a present for someone else, or must the account holder attend?

    • Matthew says:

You need to get permission first. I’ve done it once but it was for immediate family members rather than friends. Normally though they will expect the account holder to be one of the guests.

    • Rob says:

Not transferrable I guess but they won’t be asking for photo ID – albeit the lateral flow test will have a name on.

  • DARREN says:

Thanks Rob. Two tickets for the Sunday.

  • JohnT says:

Thanks – taken the last Thursday package for Wentworth. Will combine with final Diamond Status match nights at Cobham (done Woking already).
