Hyatt has taken yet another hotel off IHG – the sixth in the UK in the last couple of years.
Whilst there has been no announcement from either IHG or Hyatt, the Crowne Plaza London Albert Embankment has suddenly appeared on the Hyatt website as Hyatt Regency London Albert Embankment.
You can see the website here.
Interestingly there is no mention on the IHG website that the hotel is switching brands. However, no rooms are bookable after 11th January 2023.
This message appears on the hotel website:

…. which in light of this article clearly wasn’t telling the full story.
The Hyatt website is not currently accepting bookings for the hotel.
This switch means that Hyatt has gained two Manchester hotels, two Stratford (London) hotels, the – opening in February – Crown Plaza London Blackfriars and now Crowne Place London Albert Embankment from IHG recently.
Feedback on Crowne Plaza London Albert Embankment was never great. Whilst the location is a little out of the way, this was odd given that:
- it only opened in 2015, and
- some rooms have views over the River Thames
…. so let’s see what Hyatt can do to improve things. It’s another sign of Hyatt’s growing position in the UK.
