Interesting I follow that thread and read many comments on there … not picked that up I actually want to book something so I’ve asked the question
My powers of recollection let me down – apologies, TG Loyalty, and for any confusion caused.

It appears I was wrong in my recollection! Apologies (if you haven’t yet seen the reply, TG Loyalty)
No worries, thought it might’ve been an interesting loophole. But I can add a really cheap hotel and just rent a car for a couple nights I need.
Just called BA Holidays to see if they could magic up a flight + 5 night hotel in Beijing (as it doesn’t come up as a holiday option on the site 😀) to be told that the double tier points offer ended yesterday. I challenged this, saying that I’d just had an email about the offer being extended…. ‘no, you’re incorrect Sir’. Doh…
The CS rep is obviously living in the future and it’s 2025 lol
I know it says the bonus points will be awarded in a separate transaction upto 14 days later. Is that calandar or business days? Also is that days from the flight or days from when the initial points were allocated.
Thanks
No need to guess when it’s specifically listed in the T&Cs

4. Standard Tier Points for the flight elements will be awarded in line with regular awarding timelines after completion of the flight returning to the UK which is part of a Qualifying Booking. The initial transaction will be updated when the additional Tier Points due as a result of this promotion are added to the standard Tier Points, within 14 working days of the return flight which is part of a Qualifying Booking.
I am going to book flights to LHR SIN LHR before a cruise. I have looked at booking a BA holiday and only having the hotel for 5 days , although it will be much longer than that for the outbound and inbound flight. When I searched holidays, it automatically puts the hotel for the same length of trip. How do I go about altering the hotel to only 5 days, so I can get the double points. Also does it actually telll you somewhere that you will be getting the extra points, when you book a hotel for 5 day? Is it all hotels or just some on their site. Thanks.
@Handbag – from the book flight+hotel, look for the ‘create custom trip’ link.
There you can specify your flights first, then a hotel for a specific location for specific dates, then create tripData point on double tier points, returned to UK 16/7, DTP posted 24/7.

Thank you. Will give it a go
Has anyone added 5 nights to a flight booking after you already had the flight booked so not a BAH booking and got the double TP recently?
Has anyone added 5 nights to a flight booking after you already had the flight booked so not a BAH booking and got the double TP recently?
No
Doing this is specifically excluded from the T&Cs
It has to be a BA Hol booking right feom the start to get the double TPs
Morning all,
For my partner and I, our tier point years end on 08 September, and we’re taking a 160 TP Club Europe BA holiday from Aug 24-31st.
Personally, I need a handful of the ‘double’ TPs to renew my existing Silver status. My partner needs a portion of the ‘double’ TPs to upgrade from Bronze to Silver.
There are 8 calendar days between arriving home and our tier point years ending. Does anyone know what will happen if our double tier points don’t credit in time?
Many thanks for the guidance.

One never knows with BA IT, but as answered above, the terms explicitly rule out double TP eligibility in this scenario. They probably can discern the difference as, when all booked at the outset, it’s a BAH package holiday whereas if you separately book a flight and add a hotel/car it’s a British Airways linked travel arrangement so not only affords different protections, but also runs through different booking systems.
@JDB it absolutely used to work, was also excluded then. Just wondering if anyone had used it recently. I probably will on a smaller booking and will let you know.
I’m flying from NCL to LHR and doing 5 nights hotel to get double TP. It’s fine for London, but the software won’t let me book outside of London.
On the rewards site of BA (this was acquired by IAG loyalty earlier this year) you can book hotels EVERYWHERE.
Is this an OG glitch that I can phone uk and book, or is this BA trying to STOP double TO on holiday that include hotels in the UK?
Cheers
PeterThe custom trip method may work @Peter T
BA hols within the UK are definitely in scope of the double TP offer as long as they meet the 5 nights within the flight dates requirement.
Thanks @Richie and @BA Flyer IHG Stayer
I’ve managed this using “custom trip” but it only allows searches using the three letter airport code (seems strange). It works for BHX and EDI and HLA and NCL but doesn’t work for LTN or BRS. So I can book for central London but nowhere else!
I can search “anywhere” on Avios including the hotel I want to stay in at Aylesbury (I’m IHG Platinum, I think the stay won’t count but they MIGHT acknowledge status?)
I might try phoning… I want to “stack” flights with 5 nights stay and hotels to get double TP. But then I lose my stays with IHG/HH so is it worth it? Probably not…..
Plus if J book via Avios I get Avios in the hotel cost, the stay “counts” and I get status recognition.
Hmmm….
Does stays count if booked via Emyr?!?
