With longer replies, perhaps in the short term it might be an idea to type them out in notepad or some other text editor, and then copy & paste into the reply box?

That’s what I do, but not as sophisticated. I just copy everything into the clipboard before clicking “submit” and if it goes wrong I try again. Saved me a couple of posts already…

Back button seems to work to go back the posted content.

Several times I’ve posted something to have it not appear and then tell me “I’ve already said that” if I try to repost. I’ve not quite worked out exactly what the rules are for sending stuff to moderation but links outside of headforpoints.com are definitely one of them. The problem is it doesn’t tell you and just leaves you wondering where it went….

“HfP also endorsed him as knowledgeable so I see him as effectively having a blue tick”

Yes, but he was previously accusing HFP readers of theft and fraud in respect of their dealings with Creation, Curve and N S & I and had to be told that this was inaccurate and possibly slanderous.

Anna, that is completely false; please provide the relevant posts. Any allegation of potential fraud was for something totally different many months before the account closures. I think you did misconstrue a post that said the recycling looked like money laundering which clearly meant that it looked like / were similar in appearance to but did not say they were money laundering. That is why the transactions were initially picked up for investigation.

Sometimes I find this @JDB bashing a bit tiresome.

Remember though that there’s a losing lawyer on one side of every case.

And 50% of lawyers graduated in the bottom half of their class.

…And no idea why the post above that was lost after the captcha, has suddenly appeared. It had not appeared on back button and reloads. That’s a first.

    Rui N. 959 posts

From what I’ve seen and from what other people said, they’ve always eventually appeared. Normally it takes longer though, the first one that I lost appeared 2 or 3 days later.

Seriously, why should we have to do this? The basic software should be fit for purpose.

And this time I didn’t even get a captcha.

    I feel cheated.

I think the captcha ones are then going to be moderated hence the delay in showing, but as it doesn’t inform us of this its rather annoying, seems HFP are silent on this bug.

How has this thread turned into a Bug’s thread? With all due respect half of the comments on the previous page should be in the house keeping section, not on this thread.

It is just a workaround to keep your sanity until such time as it is permanently fixed.

I’m not sure @memesweeper. I’m truly shocked about what I’ve learned about the really oldfashioned financial services industry in France and the various poor treatment of consumers there and Creation and presumably their senior management if from there. So I have a nasty feeling Creation is expecting to get away with it. Which is why I want to see their face rubbed in the mud.

Yes exactly, people are free to choose who they believe but its clear to me based on his responses that JDB has been condescending to people, no empathy to people’s situations and belittling many people when he can see an opportunity, if someone once to classify him as an authority then more fool them. Reminds me of a broken clock just because HFP made a comment about something he said.

I don’t think so Jerry. I think JDB only wishes to make us aware of the likely way the other side will argue and what bases we have to cover, to counter the other side.

It’s perfectly possible to lose at FOS or in court even though right is on your side. It’s about using the rules (finance industry eg Treating Customers Fairly, or consumer la w) or the law (contract law for business to consumer and any relevant statutes) as the basis for your argument: not just arguing on the basis of what is right as that’s not sufficient. Whilst also combatting any bits of those rules or laws that your opponent will use JDB has been pointing out likely arguments we need to construct our case to counter.

Just completed my submission to the FOS. 2500 words, plus a chunky appendix section of screenshots, statements etc.

My other half was watching RuPaul’s drag race, so this was actually quite enjoyable….

Blimey. I thought mine was long at 1374 words plus supporting evidence (although that doesn’t include the form that they’ve come back and asked me to fill out today).

You are likely correct that the senior management think they can get away with this. However, they’ll still need a lawyer versed in English/Welsh law to defend a case. That professional is highly likely to advise they settle IMHO.

I hope so @memesweeper. Do keep us informed as to how your claim goes. Are you still going MCOL first?

You might have a lot of people following you. I can’t work out if there’s a large number of people here all hoping someone else will be first, so they can copy, or if they’ve all been MSing so they know it’s not quite so open and shut as it should be, in their own cases 🙂

More heartening news recently that the FOS is reducing the number of cases against any one firm that they won’t charge the firm the £750-odd per case for, from 25 free cases a year, to 3 🙂 .
