Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Hilton Honors Hilton Barclaycard points for May haven’t transferred to HH

  • 224 posts

The points from my Hilton Barclaycard normally transfer between 22nd and 26th of the month but May’s still haven’t appeared. Anyone else having this issue and who do I speak to to resolve it? Or should I wait a bit longer?

The number of points is in the 6k range (ie well below the 100k that I know is handled differently).

Thanks in advance for any advice.

My 18k points have transferred but my wife’s 1.5k haven’t!

Same here, they usually land around 22nd/23rd of the month but nothing yet for May. I’m only waiting on just under 1k points this month but still… I’d rather have them!

When you say “handled differently” what does that mean please?

Others will probably know more (I’ve never been anywhere near 100k points in a month) but I think there’s some kind of manual processing above 100k points.

I’ve had the odd month when they’ve been a couple of weeks late posting, but they always turn up eventually.

Thanks, hopefully they’ll turn up soon then. Don’t want to get in the whole mess of Barclaycard blaming Hilton and Hilton blaming Barclaycard!

Advice is to raise a complaint without getting fobbed off by them to call Hilton, then somebody responsible will deal with it and you should get your points

Great thanks. I’ll wait a little longer then go this route.

If, like me, you are missing points from May I have just logged a complaint with HH and will update as and when there are any developments.

I’m in the same boat, no posts posted for May Statement.

How did you raise the complaint, was it by phone or is there an online option somewhere ?

I rang and a complaint was registered.

I leave mine another week at which point the 6 weeks will have passed since my statement.

As I am off work awaiting an operation I`ve been able to chase this. During my 3rd conversation with HH this week I have just discovered that no case number has, in fact, been raised at all so far. I now have one and was assured of a response within 3 days.

Apparently the “issue” with points transfers should be solved for the end June statements! Been going on since at least Jan. PS Wasn’t sure who to call, but seems if you phone the Hilton BarclayCard number 03332021145 but choose option1 you get to Hilton reservations and they can raise the case for you – just done it for April and May statements, plus I also noticed I didn’t get any bonus points on my Hilton spend last month.
I did manage to get Barclays to raise a case in April via chat (and got the 3 months credited within a couple of weeks) but lately they just say don’t have access call instead!

My June points credited today. Still waiting for January and May points despite raising a cmplaint three weeks ago.

No problems with May, but I did have major problems back in January. I only got the January points after making a formal complaint by post, following several wasted hours on the phone.
My complaint reminded them of the £400 compensation they paid me for regularly missing points between 2014 and 2017.

This time they finally paid the points in April and paid £50 compensation.

Being due 12 000+ points in the next few days, I am keeping my fingers well crossed.

Ironically, the Royal Mail also failed to get a delivery confirmation of my complaint letter. The postal charge was £2.25, the compensation for that was £7.60.

I just noticed that my points from February onwards haven’t posted!. I know I should have checked earlier but I went into my account today to update my address since I have recently moved and it has taken me a while to work through all the changes of address. I also have a fair number of points (not the thousands others have though) that I’ve earned this month which will appear on my next Bcard statement due in the next few days so I need to get it sorted – is it best to call 03332021145? The Hhonors website is very poor on contact information.

In my experience it is nothing to do with Hilton, unless you can track down a person who is a liaison between Hilton + Barclaycard, who will have the contacts at Barclaycard to get this sorted. I do have details for such a person at Marriott Bonvoy, whose job is liaison with Creation, but no such info for Hilton.

As I described above, this has been a recurring problem throughout the life of the Hilton Barclaycard. They paid in total £400 compensation for regularly missing points between 2014 and 2017. I have quite a thick folder of apology letters. In April this year they paid me another £50 compensation for the combination of delay in posting my January points and utter incompetence in dealing with me when I phoned them.

Between 2014 and 2017 there was a link on the Barclaycard website that allowed you to complain about missing points by secure e-mail, but that has gone. Tells you a lot about Barclays customer “service”.

Frankly, I do not feel that they care anything like enough. Rather than employ people and train them in all aspects of job, they hope that people will just not notice that points have not turned up. After points appearing regularly from Feb to May, my 12 000 points due for June are already late.

Thanks very much for your reply. I have managed to initiate a complaint via Chat on the Hilton website (copied the text into word as a backup) and have a case number. First attempt speaking to Aaron was abruptly ended by him.

Following that I have received a holding auto-reply email saying:

“Thank you for contacting Hilton Customer Care.

We have received your request and are eager to assist you. Our goal is to respond to all inquiries within 5-7 business days from the receipt of your message.”

So that means I might get a reply by next Tuesday (assuming Hilton don’t count Saturday and Sunday as working days which would be odd for an hotel chain but there you go).

I do wish I had a ticket to the HfP party as I’d like to give my feedback to Barclays in person particularly as I can’t switch to their Avios card which is annoying in itself. But not receiving Hilton points on my spending is an added insult.

Who paid the compensation for not transferring/ awarding the points? Was it Barclaycard or Hilton?

Oh and as an aside I logged into Barclaycard website this morning as my June statement should have been created yesterday which the summary page seems to suggest has been generated but on the actual statement page I get a message saying something like” your statement is on its way”! The statements also seem to be shifting later and later into the month as 6 months ago they were generated on 23rd or 24th but since April it is consistently after the 26th. Very annoying!
