Claimed my £150 credit at Pollen Street Social, launch service for 2 was exactly £150 (£75 per person) however when adding a glass of Gosset, 2 sparkling water (at £6 each 😱) and service charge, there was about £60 extra to pay. The food was really fabulous though.
Credit took about 8 days to post.
Of the options in London could someone point me in the direction of the most casual? Or at least the best one for taking an 9 month old if any?
See my post/mini review above.
I wouldn’t be worried about taking a 9 month old to this restaurant. Step free access, although I didn’t notice if there was space for a pushchair to be stored anywhere.
As I said, nice restaurant, jeans and jumper were okay, staff were attentive and accommodating.
QQ has anybody had any luck pre-paying (over the phone) at an overseas restaurant to trigger this years bonus? Im off to NZ early next year, so would love to use this years bonus as a credit there..
Anyone know of any Halal places in London?
Anyone know if the Ivy £20 back on £120+ stacks with the £150 dining credit?

Yes it does.
Is it too late to use the overseas dining on 29th December? Im worried it might not have been processed fast enough to count against 2022. I’m also curious about this for hotels but I guess I can pay in advance for those which means it will be processed before the promo end (e.g. Hilton spend 200 – save 50, at end of 2022)

Don’t think so!
As per terms “Statement credits will be earned in the benefit period in which you paid for your meal.”Is the credited processed at periodic intervals say mid or end of the month.
I used part of this offer (~£100) on 13-Novemeber and the credited on 15-November.
I then made second visit to the same restaurant for another £90 or so; and I am expecting remaining ~£50 to be credited to my Amex Platinum account but no sign of it.
Chating to CS, they said usually processed within 30 days hence checking here if anyone observed a pattern for these credit transactions. Is the credited processed at periodic intervals say mid or end of the month.

If I apply for a Plat card now will I get the £150 before the end of the year as well as the £150 after and be able to cancel in Jan?

Anyone know of any Halal places in London?
Ate at veeraswamy which was really nice and recently ate at Amaya. Both halal but let them know and they will tell you what particular dish is halal or not.
Local dining credit redeemed at the Butler’s Wharf Chop House
We ignored The (ubiquitous) Ivy and decided to try Butler’s Wharf Chop House.
Easy access from London Bridge station, walk through Hays Galleria and turn right for a lovely night time walk along the River. Christmas markets are there at the moment.
The food was great and nice big portions – nice quality steak.
On the table behind us, a lady had ordered the haddock and chips and she just looked as it as if to say ‘where to begin?’ – huge fish.
Jeans and jumper just right, the restaurant is nice without being pretentious.
Two people dined, came to £150 with post-meal coffees.
Credit redemption email came through after midnight.
Statement narrative matches business name.
Will update when credit comes through 🙂
The dining credit came through today, so a week after the transaction.
Happy 😀
What are your experiences buying gift cards/E-gift cards for restaurants abroad before you visit? Will the credit still apply?
Anyone know of any Halal places in London?
Went to Kahani near Sloane Square last night, having seen this question I asked about halal and they said yes, but with some qualifications about particular dishes, so as I’m no expert, suggest call them.
I’m also not a foodie but could turn into one – which I guess is the idea of signing up to the dining credit – the 6 course tasting menu at £75pp was delicious and the final lamb dish particularly so.
Had the ‘you just used your offer’ email while on the tube an hour after leaving so it seems to be working.
Off topic but getting to Sloane Square from deepest Hampshire was more convoluted than some of the mileage runs I’ve done. Perhaps choosing to travel in train strike on Friday night Xmas party season not the brightest. M3 blocked with accidents, parking at Richmond and tube to Sloane Square fine, but after….District Line closed Turnham Grn to Richmond, no Ubers etc, 65 bus full…
Does anyone have a PDF or better yet an Excel spreadsheet with the list of restaurants/participating locations the way they normally post it?
This website gets a bit clunky and I’m trying to do this in an efficient manner…!

Restaurants can be taken off dining benefit list so any PDF you get may well be out of date within a day. This is particularly bad if they drop your desired diner 😬
The IVY online.
Has anyone bought their gift card 150 credit online. Does it actually say the Ivy or Giftpro the site powering GCs? Obviously need the receipt to state the IVY?
Help please…… thanks, PollyBooked Hakkasan Hanway place a couple of weeks ago. All trains cancelled on the day of booking (not a strike day) meant we were unable to get there, called the restaurant hoping they would allow us to rebook but they insisted on charging a £100 no show fee – this came up on the statement as ‘www.hakkasan.com’. Its been 10 days since the charge and no credit, so instead of £150 credit for tasty food I got a £100 charge and no food! 😖

That’s very unfortunate (and a good datapoint, albeit at your (Amex’s) expense!)
On a more positive note, you have £50 left to spend 🙂

Does each restaurant not have a specific merchant code that will match to those listed on dining website. I’d be surprised if that worked. The Ivy does sell physical gift cards at their restaurants.

I paid deposit of £150 online which was charged to my card. My bill was £180 so they took the balance of £30 after dinner. This never credited as they use a different merchant (stripe?) For their online billings so I doubt yours will either
