    Ugh! I activated the card. Tried to transfer £500 from my bank account. The bank thought it was fraud and asked me to text back that it was OK (this is normal with my bank) but the money hasn’t left my bank or showing in the BA app. If it doesn’t arrive tomorrow I’ll have to call my bank.

    Replying to my own comment. I had to transfer the £500 the next day.

    Anyone else not being able to even log into the BA rewards app? Android version 4.1.3 if that makes any difference.
    I click log in. Input my details, then it sends me back to the first page to click log in again.
    If I input the wrong details it tells me, so it’s not that. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    I am on Android version 4.1.12 so 4.1.3 is very old!!

    Anyone else had money mysteriously disappear from their card?

    Yeah, I topped up an extra £10 to have room for a payment, but after the payment my balance was back down to 0. Haven’t got around to calling about it yet.

    Got mine the other day. Anyone else have an issue registering a debit card? Just keeps failing for me.

    It was failing for me but somehow got added when I restarted the app.

    Phone the customer service number and option 1 and the machine will tell you your PIN.

    Could i trouble someone to post the cards customer services number here. I’ve applied but keeps rejecting my passport and driving licence. I suspect due a hyphen in my name. The BA app and website do not have the card’s customer services contact details.

    Just got my card today. Deposited £500. Went back in time on some curve transactions to it… And my balance is about £11 shorter than it should be…

    This doesn’t seem very well tested? Have others in this situation had their funds back?

    Steve , could it be FX rate changes since the original curve transaction?

    These were actually GBP transactions… I can see the amounts in transaction history are correct. If you do the math, the balance is about £11 short of what it should be without any line item as to why.

    The funds have literally disappeared from the account.

    Yup, so is mine.

    I imagine their IT is too poor so they wouldn’t be able to distinguish when to charge the monthly fee without reissuing the card (my card is valid 6 months).

    Mine is 12/22 too and was issued in May so only 8 months validity which is odd.

    Like some others here there was money missing in my balance. I’ve contacted support and was told it was a fee.
    The fee was related to paying off a credit card and is 2% of the transaction.
    I looked in the terms of the card and cannot find any mention of such fees though. I might try to get it removed and will report back if that worked.

    There is no such fee in the T&C so they cannot charge it.

    The Help Topics also make it clear that any charges will show as a line item.

    Q. If I am charged any fees, when will they appear on my customer statement?

    A: Any fees will appear immediately on your customer statement which can be viewed within the British Airways Executive Club Rewards app.

    They cannot legally charge these “fees” without changing their T&C.

    Had the same problem.
    With Curve no card worked.
    With Lloyds debit it worked once for £10 never worked again.
    Then finally it worked fine with Virgin debit card.
    Got the £500 spending done on tax free childcare, and got avios for all spending.

    Got through to an agent earlier.

    They said it’s due to fees from paying off Credit Cards with it (even though the fees “appeared” when I had zero credit card payments). Even *if* I paid off a Credit Card with it, it’s literally a Prepaid Debit Card topped up using my Debit Card for my current account. If there was fees involved it wouldn’t make sense to use this product for such a purpose as you’d just go direct!

    Asked them to provide me where in the T&C this is allowed to charge these fees. Was on hold for 30 minutes and the agent said she gave up and that it “must be there” and stated she didn’t want to be on the call any longer looking for it. She said a manager would call me back within an hour to discuss it… that was over 3 hours ago.

    I’ve taken a copy of the existing T&C (in-case they try and ignore the 2 months required notice to change them) & I filed a formal complaint via the email as listed in the T&C. The agent refused to take the complaint over the phone.

    If like me you did not fill in the HfP referral code – because you have to scroll down to the bottom to find the box and I didn’t as I just clicked submit which was visible whereas the referral code box was not – the only way to add the code is by email and you have to email the KYC team. The email is

    If you need it the customer services number is 020 3146 0748 and the current wait time is about 45 mins in true BA fashion.

    They acknowledged there is nothing in the T&C that allows them to charge the 2% fee. They said it *should* be there but for some reason it isn’t! They are looking at getting the T&C changed. No Idea what happens in the meantime if you continue such transactions though…

    They were not aware the fees are not showing in the app. I sent them screenshots which will be forwarded to their technical team to fix.
