-
Oddly, having done 90k of referrals on my wife’s Gold, the limit seems to have reset to zero now the card is upgraded to Platinum.
In worse news, no sign of Harvey Nichols to register for yet, 10 days on. Got the dining ones after 5-6 days.
I had the same issue after upgrading from gold to platinum with no HN offer appearing. I contacted Amex via live chat and they applied it to my account.
Does spending on a supplementary card count towards the SUP spending target?
The upgrade offer popped up on my Gold card for the first time this morning. Interesting. But a couple of questions:
If I apply successfully will I be able to confirm immediately that I get the 80K bonus if I meet the spend?
and if for some reason I find I am not eligible can I immediately cancel and get the full £650 refunded?
If I apply today and get accepted, do I get the 2024 dining credits as well as 2025?

There is no countdown tracker for the 80k. You just need to trust Amex on this one annoyingly.
You will get 2024 dining credits as well as 2025, yes, although obviously time is tight to spend the foreign one. Will take 5-6 days to appear. Harvey Nichols seems to be screwed and is not appearing automatically but a 5 minute online chat will get it added (obviously you get the 2024 £50 and the 2025 £50 too).
Amusingly you seem to keep the Deliveroo £5 credits from Gold too!
Slightly off topic, but has anyone gotten this upgrade offer from ARCC? I’m pretty sure I saw it as an offer in the app, but it seems to have disappeared now and help desk have said I’ve never been eligible for it!
Can someone remind me – does the SUB appear as soon as you hit the spend target, or only at the end of the corresponding statement period?

If we use some of the benefits like the dining credit, and HN credit, and subsequently want to downgrade after hitting the bonus points, will we still be entitled to a full pro rata refund of the remaining months? or will the dining/HNn credits be deducted? Say I use the £50×2 HN credits, and then the £150 and £100 dining credits- and request a pro rata refund after using the card for 2 months, will I be entitled to a refund of the remaining card fees?
Yes. Use of credits/offers has no bearing on pro rata refunds
Is there no tracker on the 10k to understand if and when you have hit it for the 80k points – that sounds a bit hard to manage on your own – any ideas?

What I have been doing is checking via Live Chat – they can see it clearly on their systems.
Step 1 – is get them to confirm that the 80,000 points offer is loaded on the card
Step 2 – say you’d like an update on the progress of you much have spent for this offer and how much you have leftI have done this every two weeks since upgrading and each time the rep was able to give me the stats within 2 minutes of asking.

Thanks a lot – I spoke to them – they say I need to make some transaction before they can see the offer loaded on the card, which feels a bit odd?

Not sure about SUB but for these upgrade bonuses, the bonus appears as soon as you hit the spend target.

It does. I’d put some transactions through it and then go back with the same question. I assume you’ve screenshotted everything; the application approval; the application link etc etc – you know…just in case
Can anyone share how the local restaurant offer works – is it just a case of spending £150 or more there and getting it back as a statement credit – time is running out for this year and I wouldn’t want to miss out on it – hence checking. Thanks a lot.
Ensure that you have registered for the offer first and then spend at one of the restaurants on the list linked from the offer terms.
I got £150 vouchers from the Ivy yesterday (bought in person at one of the participating restaurants), which included the £100 voucher with a free bottle of cuvee offer that is still going.
Vouchers will be used in the new year, along with the next £100 credit.

I queried it with my account as I couldn’t (and still can’t) see the tracker.
At first they said it wasn’t loaded and they’d escalate it (that may have been before the first transactions cleared), and then when I checked back confirmed it was loaded and active.

The tracker does not exist for upgrade bonuses. IME I have only seen a tracker when signing up to a new card & for the annual BAPP Companion Voucher.

What is this Ivy offer you talk about please?

In my case it is for a new card, not an upgrade. Hadn’t spotted this was specifically an upgrade thread.

The Platinum UK restaurant dining credit – currently £150, going to £100 every six months from January.
Or are you talking about the free bottle of cuvee? There’s an HFP article about that if you search for it.

That’s the one – thanks.
I took the card out a few days back and spoke to CS to get the offers loaded but I see the Harvey Nichols one expires June end – shouldn’t I have gotten one for this year that expires December 31 and then another one next year for June?

You can see it on the Ivy’s website here https://gifts.ivycollection.com/shop/100-sparkling-gift-card you simply go to one of the Ivy’s on the Amex participating list and if you ask for the Sparkling Gift Card offer it is £100 plus a free bottle of fizz. If you want to trigger the whole Amex offer you’ll need to spend another £50 (buy a normal gift card). You have to do this in person to qualify.

Poorly worded offer and Amex Tech can’t cope with the recent change (i.e. offer ending in H1 next year).
Spend your £50 before 31/12/24 and the offer won’t drop off, it will stay there until 30/06/24 where you have another opportunity to spend £50before it finally drops off.

So if I get this right, I can spend £50 before 31st December for a full cashback and then another £50 till 30/6/25 for another £50 – thats a total of £100 between the two, or did I misunderstand? Thanks for clarifying.
