Today we are launching a fantastic new competition.  One lucky reader will win 100,000 Avios courtesy of Avios partner Cruise118.

We haven’t done a huge amount about cruising on Head for Points before, but we know that it’s a popular holiday choice for many readers.  If it’s something you or a family member are considering, it can be a lucrative way of earning additional Avios.

Avios Cruise118

How earn Avios with Cruise118

Cruise118 offers you 3 Avios for every £1 spent which is an attractive earn rate.  For example, a 10 day cruise around Italy and the Med on the luxury cruise operator Regent Seven Seas could earn you over 18,000 Avios PER PERSON.

Not only that, Cruise118 is currently offering up to 10% off and up to £300 onboard spending money in their Big Cruise Sale so it’s a good time to get booking.  You can visit their website here to find out more.

How can I win 100,000 Avios?

The competition is very straightforward to enter.  Simply fill out the Gleam app at the bottom of this post (or by clicking through to the Gleam website) and leave your name and email address. That’s it!

We are also offering you the opportunity to double your chances and receive a second entry to the competition by signing up to Cruise118’s email newsletter.  This is optional but is worthwhile as you will be first to hear about their special offers and sales.

Earn Avios with Cruise118

If you don’t choose to get a second entry by signing up to the Cruise118 newsletter, your details remain confidential and will not be passed to Cruise118 (unless you win!).  Head for Points will not use your email address for any other purpose.  We will delete all of the data at our end after the winner has been confirmed.

  1. Creepy power of Google. Enter competition. Immediately, ads for unrelated cruise operators start appearing.

(Waste of money for advertisers, as sole interest is in avios, and am not a potential cruise purchaser. Thanks for another contest, though!)

  2. Jonathan says:

The link to their webpage isn’t working Rob

  3. TigerTanaka says:

And remember folks, you can take out a credit card to pay for your next cruise and earn even more avios…

  4. Riccatti says:

    WHO used my email!!

That personal email is not the same as username email for comments.

    • You sure you haven’t used it before with Gleam? I need to authenticate with Twitter every time as I linked accounts the first time.

  5. Just check their avios price is not too different from their non avios price..

  6. Love cruising. Try to do 2 or 3 sometimes 4 a year

    • I’ve been on two and loved them both, great way of packing in loads of different activities/destinations.

      • Love them too, try to do one every 2nd year. Great routes like baltic cities, or eastern med.

        • Spurs Debs says:

I’m doing 11 night cruise around Japan in 93 days time, not that I’m counting. 😁

        • Lady London says:

Don’t cruises also have excellent kids clubs and activities that will give their parents a rest?

          • Spurs Debs says:

There are cruises to suit everyone, I’ve only been on one other cruise to Alaska and I can’t remember seeing any children. I think, like everything do your research on type of cruise you want and what company goes there. We are going with Celebrity cruise line who’s clientele are older, well I am going for my 60th 😱
Like airlines they have loyalty schemes lol

    • +1 4 booked for this year covering 6 weeks. I check US and UK agents for every cruise and the price difference can be huge. Just this week I checked a balcony cabin for a cruise US agent £683 pp which included tips paid $14.50pp per day, $100 OBC and $100 specialty dinner. UK £1128pp with $100 OBC The same cruise same ship same cabin.

      • Could you pls share the US agent name, or is that allowed Rob? Tnx.

        • Not sure it’s allowed but I’ll try anyway, I’ve been using a US agent for 15 years. The same salesperson is still there which bodes well. The first part of the name is the US word for holidays (plural), then Togo.

        • I booked a cruise this week with the site Craig hinted at. I think their site is the best for locating cruises and has a uk phone number the only downside is that it’s not a live site . Also try crucondotcom great perks added

      • [email protected]: Did you get your Lloyds voucher issues sorted?

        • Finally got through this lunchtime via a kind BA agent giving me a phone number to call the Lloyds team direct. Phone answered within seconds and within 20 mins the full LBA-LHR-BCN was correctly upgraded to CE and ticketed. Can’t believe all the hours I spent listening to music via the BA number.

Thanks BJ and Anna for your help with this.

The number to call direct to use a Lloyds voucher is 01925848693

  7. Does anyone know whether Avios can be earned on their sister site “Six Star Cruises”?

  8. Sherri Elwick says:

I can’t enter either and am seeing ‘sorry this promotion is not available in your region’ when I click the link

    • Noggins says:

      • Noggins says:

Now resolved. Appears to be a browser or, more likely, security system issue. I still use Kaspersky following years of free provision from Barclays and I notice that I am regularly hooked into far flung servers. I don’t pretend to understand how it all works but what I do know is I’ve now been able to enter via my phone!
Thanks, Rob – as an ardent cruiser and miles collector it’s great to link two interests in one competition!

  9. James 1 says:

Whilst I’ve enjoyed cruises that I’ve done, there’s something not quite right about them for me.

Not spending night times in the visited places just feels odd. You can’t get a feel for a place if you only visit in the daytime.

    • You can use this as a “taster” for places you’d like to go back to – we did this with the US Virgin Islands some years ago when it was still possible to fly there direct from the UK.

    • Jill (Kinkell) says:

We’ve done several, and it’s a brilliant way to see and experience different cultures. As Anna says, it’s a ‘taster’. We recently spent a week in Costa Rica before cruising Pacific side of Central America to SAN Diego, calling in at a variety of countries. We try to combine a holiday on land with a cruise. Our next one is 15 days in Peru followed by Galapagos. Always a bit stressful getting the 241 to fit in with our dates.( in this case 241 to Miami followed by AA cash ticket to Lima and return from Quito..wasn’t worth using Avios as the fees etc were almost as much as paying cash and the seasonal BA from LGW doesn’t run in Oct/Nov and too much of a faff contemplating IB) I quite fancy Spurs Debs Japan trip!

  10. Thanks for another great competition, just about the only place I enter them.

  11. I cant enter as I appear to have once used gleam with my Instagram account. I no longer wish to use this method, is there a way I can enter in the normal fashion, or how do I unlink my IG account?
