We have seen a number of American Express hotel cashback deals launched recently – we ran a summary in this article.

Hyatt has now joined the party with the most generous offer of the lot.

Until 31st August, you will receive £100 back when you spend £250 at participating Hyatt hotels.

As usual, you need to see if you have the offer showing on any of your American Express cards and then save it to lock it in.

There are a few things to note about this deal:

  • it is only valid at Hyatt properties in Europe
  • Small Luxury Hotels properties are not included
  • you need to stay by the end of August
  • it is clear that cumulative spend does count

The list of particpating hotels is here.

Most people are finding the deal on Preferred Rewards Gold and The Platinum Card but it could be on others.

Hyatt American Express cashback offer

This is a deal well worth jumping on

I am very keen on this deal since – as I wrote in my Grand Hyatt Berlin review recently – I have been gifted top tier Hyatt Globalist status for 2022 and I am keen to try it out.

Some of my targets are on the list of participating hotels, and luckily I have the offer across three Amex cards. Hotels I am keen to try include:

  • Hotel Martinez, Cannes
  • Palais de la Mediterranee, Nice
  • Hotel du Palais Biarritz (above)

Of the hotels we have reviewed, you can use the offer at:

  • Andaz Amsterdam (review coming this week)

You can check out the full list of participating hotels here.

This deal will double up with Hyatt Prive benefits

You can combine this deal with Hyatt Prive, the benefits programme offered by luxury travel agents including our partner Emyr Thomas. Click here to learn more.

Park Hyatt Milan isn’t on the list, is it? Or did you mention it because you want to try it, and not because it’s participating?

    • Rob says:

The latter, but I agree it’s confusing so I’ve taken it out. The other Hyatt in Milan is on the list.

  • King says:

Thanks on my BAPP. On the website but not on the app.

  • Tarmohamed says:

Anyone know which Hyatt hotels in London are happy to open up a folio at front desk and then allow the restaurants AND spa to be charged to the folio/virtual room?

  • BSI1978 says:

Not on my BAPP (app or online) which is a shame; albeit I have done well with this the past 3 or 4x they have run similar since summer of 2020. No doubt why it hasn’t appeared this time round!

  • Stephan says:

Is it easy to split bills over multiple cards at hotels? Only really done that at restaurants. This offer and the marriott one may have upgraded my stay in Nice

  • G Stama says:

Had a Small Luxury Hotels of the world offer saved.I have saved it and today bought some gift vouchers at a participating hotel to use to pay when we decide to stay.Did not receive a offer triggered email.Anyone has any experience with buying gift vouchers or did the reception had to open a virtual room bill and charge it on it?

Can’t take advantage of this as I can’t log in to Nectar via the website 🙁

Nectar have messed up my account somehow so I can’t log in using my email address. I just get –

“For security reasons, your account is currently blocked. To access your account again, please contact our team on Nectar Live Chat.

    Error code: 7135JSO”

    – as an error message but ‘Live Chat’ (which actually makes a phone call to CS when you click on the link) failed to offer a solution and suggested it was because I had a VPN running (I don’t) .

I’ve tried multiple browsers, phone, laptop, desktop, Ipad, Mobile Data, Wi-Fi at a dozen different locations, all without success so the fault is clearly with THEM not me but despite raising the issue on ‘Chat’ and Twitter several times nobody gets back to me and the situation persists.

The thing is, my account ISN’T ‘blocked’ per se – I can still use the App to save offers and I’m still accruing points and auto-converting to Avios, but when certain features such as Nectar Hotels require you to use the email login in a browser I’m SOL.

It’s been nearly 2 months now and Tesco Clubcard auto-converting to Virgin points is beginning to look attractive again.

Any ideas? Can I create a new account and re-link my BAEC or will this cause yet more ‘security’ issues?
