UPDATE – OCTOBER 2022:  This article is now out of date, but don’t worry.  We produce a monthly summary of the top hotel bonus point offers – please click HERE or use the ‘Hotel Offers’ menu above.  Thank you.

As travel begins to restart, we have brought back our regular round-up of the best hotel promotions currently running.

All of the information in this article can also be found on our ‘Hotel Offers’ page which contains details of all of the current offers, together with links to our major articles on each hotel scheme.  However, a positive response from readers – especially our 15,000 email subscribers – means we run this monthly article as a handy summary.

Here are quick summaries and links to the registration pages you need for each offer – do it before you forget. Unfortunately it is a fairly thin list at the moment:

Hilton Honors

Hilton Honors is offering double Hilton Honors base points on 1-2 night stays and triple base points on 3+ night stays between 2nd May and 5th September

Register here

IHG One Rewards

IHG One Rewards is offering bonus base points on all cash stays between 18th May and 31st August.  You earn double points on your 2nd to 5th nights, triple points on your 6th to 14th nights and quadruple base points from your 15th night.

Register here

Accor Live Limitless, Marriott Bonvoy, Radisson Rewards and World of Hyatt are not currently running a global promotion.

There are no ‘buy points’ offers running at the moment, which is very rare. The 30% bonus for buying Hyatt points ended yesterday.

EDIT: Overnight, Hilton Honors launched a new ‘buy points’ offer. You will get a 100% bonus on purchases by 18th September. Click here to buy.

Current American Express cashback offers

It’s also worth noting the current American Express cashback offers which may be showing on one of your cards and which may influence which hotels you book this month:

Remember that each offer only applies to a specific list of participating hotels in Europe.

Where should you credit your stays for August 2022?

Remember that, irrespective of the offers below, there is never a single ‘best’ offer.

Some offers require multiple stays to maximise the bonus, which you might not do. Some require stays to be a minimum number of nights before a bonus is earned.

You need to factor in any elite status you have, which will earn you additional status bonuses.

More importantly, you need to be able to use the points. There is no value in earning a large bonus in a scheme where you will never go on to earn enough points to get a free night.

That said, with only Hilton and IHG to choose from this month, it won’t be too hard to make a choice …..

Hilton (Hampton, Conrad, Waldorf-Astoria etc)

Hilton has a Summer offer called ‘More Nights, More Points’.  You can register here.  Our full article is here.

You will earn double base points on stays of 1-2 nights and triple base points on stays of three or more nights up to 5th September.

You need to register in advance of your stay via the Hilton website here.  Existing bookings count and all Hilton Honors hotels are taking part.

The Hilton booking page is here.

IHG One Rewards new offers

IHG (InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo etc)

Between 18th May and 31st August, you can earn bonus base points on your IHG One Rewards stays.

You must register in advance via this link.

You will earn:

  • No bonus on your first night during the promo period
  • 2x base points on your 2nd to 5th nights
  • 3x base points on your 6th to 14th nights
  • 4x base points on your 15th and additional nights

In terms of counting ‘nights’, reward nights do not count. This is different from the way that IHG usually counts ‘nights’ in terms of earning elite status or milestone rewards.

Existing bookings DO count so there is no need to rebook anything.  Only one room per stay counts towards the offer, so if you are booking multiple rooms you should put each in a different name.

There is a cap of 100,000 bonus points per account under this offer. This is surprisingly easy to hit as you move up the bonus ladder.

The home page for bookings is here.

And finally …..

If you booking a luxury hotel, remember that we can offer you exclusive additional benefits at Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Peninsula and similar hotels.

Click here for details of our luxury hotel booking service in association with Bon Vivant / Virtuoso.  Feedback from readers who have used this service so far has been excellent and we have booked over £1.7 million of rooms so far.

Thanks, must have launched last night.

Thanks. Really need 20,000 pts for a redemption

Not everyone seems to be targeted for the 100% bonus. I have a buy up to 160k and get 100% more bonus. Mrs T only has buy up to 80k get 64k free (i.e. 80% bonus). We are both Hilton gold and have not bought any points in the last year on either account so I’m not sure why our offers are different…

“As travel begins to restart” Time to remove this from the article template I think! 🙂

  • Simon says:

I can semi-recommend the current Wyndham Rewards offer of two stays = 7,500 Wyndham points and you can get that bonus twice.

There’s value in it if you can put up with a very basic Days Inn / Ramada property as you could use the 15000 points for some decent Las Vegas / Lake Tahoe redemptions at the Caesars properties. Definitely not for the more precious travellers though haha
