On Wednesday we wrote about a new Marriott cashback offer on Marriott Bonvoy American Express cards.
In the past 24 hours another two generous American Express cashback deals have arrived, this time for British Airways and Hyatt:
- Spend £500+ and get £50 cashback with British Airways
- Spend £250+ and get £100 cashback with Hyatt

As usual, you need to be targetted for these offers. You can see if you have them by looking under the ‘Offers’ tab for every American Express card you hold. You need to click ‘Save to Card’ to register. The offer will disappear from your ‘Offers’ list if not saved once the registration threshold is hit.
The British Airways offer is only for ‘non-premium’ long haul round-trip bookings. Ironically, this includes Premium Economy (World Traveller Plus) which is apparently ‘non-premium’. You need to book and pay at ba.com by 8th November.
You won’t be able to get away with using the offer to book business class flights. Unlike most Amex transactions, airlines pass on cabin and route data to American Express as part of the payment process. We saw this with the recent Air France offer, where the £200 cashback only applied to business class fights.
That said, you could easily book World Traveller Plus flights to snag the £50 discount and then upgrade your trip to Club using Avios (we explain the process here). The only snag is that there must be Avios availability in the class you are upgrading into. Your flights will also be non-refundable if you do this, unlike a standard Avios redemption.
The Hyatt offer is even more generous.
You receive £100 cashback when you spend £250+ by 31st December.
You can see a full list of eligible properties here. It includes the phenomenal Park Hyatt Vienna, which I reviewed here, and is in my top five favourite hotels worldwide. Hotels in France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain Sweden, Switzerland and the UK are also included.
