Last call for these miles and points offers closing on 31st December

31st December is, unsurprisingly, the date that a lot of miles and points offers close.

I thought it was worth a quick reminder of the key ones which we have covered on the site in recent weeks.

I’ve split the list into two – deals you can actually jump on, and deals which realistically you can’t take advantage of with one day to go, but which are worth noting.

Deals you can still get until 31st December:

Deals worth noting but which you are unlikely to be able to take advantage of before Saturday night (unless you need a last minute hotel!):

Our regular ‘deals ending’ soon feature will return in mid-January.

Another IHG one: if you have an elite choice benefit (25k points or gift gold to another member, also Hertz 5*) from achieving Spire elite last year and you have not yet selected it, tomorrow is the last day to do so.

I’ve just booked a stay for 15th Jan (pre-paid rate). Would I still get the Marriott cash back offer or does the offer only work if I stay before 31 Dec? I’ve just booked last night and the charge hasn’t showed up on my card yet…

Only if they charge you now – and many don’t bother charging prepaid rates in advance now. Too much admin.

If you call them it may get done.

    Hey Rob
The email links to seat spy just come up with the standard price, not the discounted one. Am I missing something?

The sales on Hilton Points seem to last for about six months of the year, but it’s worth noting that the cap on purchasing Hilton Points is based on the calendar year, so tomorrow is the last day to top up before the new year starts.

With hotel prices still looking sky high for next year in the US, paying with points can be excellent value.

Eg, Hilton Logan Airport, cash price in June 23 for the cheapest room is $597 non refundable. You can get the same room or better for 60000 points or $300 purchase price.

Also worth noting that points can be freely transferred between spouses/partners.
