  • Alex W says:

Has anybody managed to get the virgin miles for opening an ISA again? Or is the ‘new customers only’ rule being rigidly enforced?

  • Simon Barlow says:

Hi Rob, slightly O/T but I can reapply for a BAPP card in a week or so. Only reason for me to do this would be the sign up bonus and 2-4-1. Assuming the card is available and unchanged when I can apply, do you have a view on whether they could withdraw the benefits, specifically the 2-4-1 voucher for existing card holders if they did drop the card in the short term?
Also, do you still get avios for referrals as I can get referred by yourself?

    Thanks
    S

    • Rob says:

Nothing happening in the short term I’m sure. You get an extra 1000 Avios if I refer you.

      • Simon Barlow says:

Ok cheers Rob, I’ll get in touch in a week when the 6 months are up. Thanks
        S

  • Robert says:

Any idea how the Economist deal will work if I want to sign-up on 30 May given Avios is closing on 20 May?

    • TGLoyalty says:

I’ve overlapped for a few days with these deals in the last two years and it’s just started from when my other one runs out. At worse you lose an issue but gain 8k Avios vs signing up after 30th May

    • Rob says:

Points go across to your BA account – or indeed apply via the BA equivalent offer if that is running.

    • MarkZ says:

The Iberia Plus offer is still active, originally intended to end tomorrow, 30th April 2018, but seemingly extended to the same end date as all of the other offers, 31st May 2018.

  • Maciek says:

OT: American Express just mailed me about the Personal FX International Payments closing as of 1st July. Gutted.

  • Papa Joe says:

I need one more stay for my accelerate target – If I check in on Monday and checkout on Tuesday will this count?

    • Peter K says:

As the stay starts in April you should be fine.

    • Rob says:

      Yes

      • LB says:

I missed out on a recent Hilton challenge due to the check-OUT date being the day after the offer had finished.

        • Rob says:

That is not normally now these things work, because otherwise multi-day trips which straddle the closing date would cause huge issues. I would appeal that with Hilton.

  • Ali says:

argh, I’m just under 3000 virgin miles shy of the requisite 75000 and membership rewards keeps coming up with an error when I try to transfer! Can MR transfers be done over the phone? Failing that can anyone confirm how long it takes for purchased virgin miles to credit?

  • Steve says:

It would seem the Heathrow Rewards AVIOSAO18 promotion also may have changed – I recently tried spending £150 in one day but it did not post. Spend shows up in account as £152 but did not get the 3000 points, and had this response from customer services:

    > You would need to spend £150.00 in a single transaction to receive this promotion.

    • Rob says:

Historically it has always been day. Versions of this have run for years. I will have a look later.
